In-Home Therapy Near Killeen
In-home therapy is not typical therapy, and it is not the right fit for every person or every situation. But for some clients and families, it can be extraordinarily useful.
I have spent years sitting at kitchen tables, on couches, on floors, and sometimes in places that would never show up in a textbook description of psychotherapy. I have sat on trampolines while children jumped, watched children learn to ride bicycles, done craft projects, looked at Lego creations, and listened to kids explain their favorite video games. Those moments often give us a natural way into conversations about frustration, resilience, courage, relationships, confidence, and problem-solving.
And while I may climb up on that trampoline, I am not jumping. These knees don’t bounce.
The point is that therapy does not always have to happen with two people sitting across from each other in chairs.
In-home sessions are available within about a 45-minute radius of Killeen.

How We Might Work
The Practical Side
There is also a practical side to it.
Families with children already have a very small window between school and bedtime. In-home therapy can mean a parent does not have to load everyone into the car, drive across town, sit somewhere waiting, and then drive home again. While I am working with one child, a parent may be making dinner, helping another child with homework, getting someone else through bath time, or managing the hundred other things that happen in a household at the end of the day.
In-home therapy can also give clients a greater sense of autonomy. It is your space. You know where things are. You can move around. A teenager can pace. An autistic or ADHD child can bounce, fidget, build something, or bring over the thing they are fascinated by instead of trying to describe it from memory. A client can settle into the chair where they are actually comfortable.
Your Home, Your Space
And no, I am not coming into your home to inspect it.
I have dishes in my sink and dog hair on my floor too. I have worked in homes that are beautifully decorated, homes that are modest, homes that are quiet and orderly, and homes that are busy, crowded, noisy, creative, and sometimes wonderfully chaotic. I am not there to judge any of that. As long as the environment is safe and workable for everyone involved, I am much more interested in the people who live there than whether the living room is tidy.
The Trade-Offs
There are trade-offs. Privacy can be harder to manage in a home. Someone may walk through the room. A sibling may interrupt. Walls may be thin. For some clients, telehealth may actually give them more privacy or more emotional distance from what is happening around them. In-home therapy is not automatically better.
It is different.
For the right person or family, it can make therapy feel more collaborative, flexible, and connected to everyday life. It can help me understand things that are difficult to describe. It can help clients practice changes where those changes actually need to happen.
And, as a bonus, I usually get to meet the dogs and cats too, sometimes while throwing a dog toy across the room or petting a cat who keeps bumping my hand because apparently therapy is interfering with their scheduled attention.
Sometimes sitting with someone at their own kitchen table tells me more about what they need than I could ever learn from a form.
Fees and Scheduling
I handle my own scheduling because I want to be able to consider what works for both of us, particularly when in-home therapy is involved.
In-home sessions are $200 per session.
