Who I See

Therapy for Veterans and First Responders

Room Beyond the Role

I work with veterans and first responders who want space to talk about what they have carried. Your role may have shaped routines, relationships, and the way you respond when something feels uncertain. It is also not all of who you are. You do not need to arrive with one kind of story to belong in therapy.

Some people want to talk about trauma and its lasting effects. Others begin with stress, family changes, or the difficulty of being off duty when their mind is still on alert. We can start with the concern you name instead of assuming I know what your experience has been.

Safety Before Detail

My trauma-informed approach begins with attention to safety, stability, and ways to cope. I do not ask you to recount difficult events on a timetable. In a session we may focus on what happens in your day now, how a reaction begins, and what gives you enough steadiness to keep talking.

We can notice when a conversation moves too quickly and adjust. I may draw on somatic or attachment-based ideas when they help us make sense of a response. Narrative therapy can give us a way to consider how a role or experience became part of the story you tell about yourself.

Working as a Whole Person

Adults and seniors may come with many different reasons for seeking support. I combine approaches to fit the person rather than treat a job title or history as a treatment plan. A practical CBT skill may fit one conversation; another may need room to sit with grief or a relationship concern.

I will not claim to understand a particular experience simply because it belongs to a group I work with. You can tell me what matters and what does not. Genuine connection and your own account of your life come first.

How to Reach Me

I meet virtually with clients located anywhere in Texas. In-home sessions may be an option in Killeen, Copperas Cove, Temple, and nearby communities if that is a good fit for the work. We can decide which setting makes sense for you.

Send a message if you are thinking about therapy. I manage my scheduling directly, and you can start with a free 15-minute introductory conversation if you'd like. You do not have to explain everything in that first message; a few words about why you reached out are enough to begin the conversation.

You are more than the role you have carried.
