Who I See

Therapy for Older Adults

A Place for This Part of Life

Adults 65 and up carry histories that deserve more than quick assumptions. A new role, a loss, a changing relationship, or the ordinary demands of a day may bring something into focus. I work with older adults who want space to talk about what is happening now without having their years reduced to one story.

You may be used to taking care of other people or to being the one who has the answer. Therapy can be a place where you do not need to perform that role. We can begin with what matters to you, including concerns others may have overlooked.

What a Session Can Hold

We may talk through a change in family life or look at how an old pattern shows up in the present. I might ask about the people who have shaped your sense of self, and about what you want to make room for now. There is no need to tell your whole life story in order to start.

I may draw on narrative therapy to look at a familiar story from another perspective. Person-centered and attachment-based approaches can make space for relationships and experiences that still matter. When practical thoughts are getting in the way of daily life, CBT can be one more tool to consider.

A Format That Fits

Virtual sessions are available across Texas if you can join from within the state. In-home sessions may be possible around Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Temple when that is a good fit. Getting out can be difficult for some older adults, and meeting at home may make a difference in whether therapy is accessible.

We can discuss what setting supports a real conversation for you. There is no assumption that age determines how you prefer to meet or what you want to work on. Your preferences belong in the decision.

Beginning the Conversation

If you are considering therapy for yourself, send me a message about what you would like to discuss. I handle my scheduling personally, including travel for in-home sessions. A free 15-minute introductory conversation is available if you want to ask a question before choosing a time.

I will listen to your account rather than make a plan based on your age. We can work at a pace that respects your experience and leaves room for what is still changing.

Your story is still yours to tell.
