A Family Conversation From Home

When a family is stretched thin, finding a shared time to talk can be hard enough. I work with families in San Antonio. We can begin with one relationship or one repeated moment that everyone recognizes, instead of asking the whole family to agree on a single version of what is wrong.

Families sometimes arrive with several explanations for one argument. I would ask everyone what they noticed and make room for the people who need more time to speak.

Listening Across the Room

I may draw on family systems ideas to notice how people respond to one another and on attachment-based ideas when closeness or distance feels important. Sometimes a parent needs a session to speak in their own voice. With younger children, I can consider how play fits the work rather than expecting adult words from them.

We may focus on one exchange that keeps ending the same way. I can ask a parent what they hoped a child heard and ask the child, when it fits, what they actually heard.

How the Meeting Works

I meet San Antonio families by secure video while they are in Texas. I have no office there and do not provide in-home therapy there. We can talk about privacy for each person taking part.

I arrange sessions myself and can discuss who should join the first one. A parent may want to ask questions before bringing other family members into the conversation.

Where to Begin

Send me a message about what has been difficult at home. I can have a free 15-minute introductory conversation with you about how to begin before we put a time on the calendar.

When several people are involved, it can be hard to decide who should make the first contact. A parent or family member can write about what is happening. I will ask who you would like me to hear from.
