More Than a Diagnosis
Some children, teens, and adults are tired of having every struggle explained by a label. I work with neurodivergent people who want their own account of life to matter. In Harker Heights, we can start with the situations that feel most frustrating now instead of asking you to fit a preset plan.
I would rather hear about an actual day than assume a diagnosis explains it. Tell me what happens when plans change, conversations get tiring, or family members understand the same moment differently.
Following Your Particular Experience
Autism and ADHD can shape daily life in different ways. We might talk about what drains your energy, what makes a conversation harder, or how family members understand one another. I can draw on person-centered and family systems approaches, but I want to hear what the experience actually feels like to you.
Some people want practical ideas to try between sessions. Others need time to explain why the usual advice has not fit. I can listen to both, and we can change course when something I suggest misses the point.
The Practical Question of Place
I do not have an office in Harker Heights. Virtual therapy is available while you are in Texas; in-home work may be possible when it is a good fit, so ask when you reach out.
Before setting a time, I can ask who would be part of the conversation and what you would like us to focus on first. I arrange my own appointments and will let you know what is workable.
The Next Small Step
Send me a message about the part of your experience you wish someone understood better. A free 15-minute introductory conversation is available if you have questions about working together.
If a label has been doing more talking than you have, tell me what you wish someone would ask instead. We can begin with the part of your experience that is most pressing. I will listen to your priorities.
