When Being Capable Gets Heavy
You can be the person everyone counts on and still feel overwhelmed. I work with adults in Gatesville who are dealing with stress, burnout, grief, or a change they did not plan. We can make room for the parts of your life that rarely get airtime when you are busy keeping everything else moving.
When you are used to managing things, asking for time for yourself can feel unfamiliar. I will ask what responsibilities have been weighing on you and which parts you have not been able to say out loud.
Finding a Useful Starting Point
One session might focus on a specific week that felt impossible; another may look at the story you tell yourself about needing to handle everything. I draw on person-centered and narrative approaches to listen closely, and CBT tools can be useful when recurring thoughts make an already full day feel narrower.
We can look at the expectations you hold yourself to, especially when a hard day feels like a personal failure. I want to know where those expectations came from and how they affect you now.
Asking About Where We Meet
I do not have an office in Gatesville. Virtual therapy is available while you are in Texas; in-home work may be possible when it is a good fit, so ask when you reach out.
I arrange my own appointments and can answer questions about the practical side of meeting. We can also talk about what you need from a first conversation.
The Next Small Step
Send me a message about what has been asking too much of you lately. A free 15-minute introductory conversation is available if you want to get a sense of how I work.
You can tell me what has been asking too much of you lately, even if it seems ordinary from the outside. I will listen to what you have been doing to get through it and what feels difficult now.
